Greetings Glocal Citizens! We're journeying to Nairobi by way of Philly and along the way learning age old insights in the branding and media space as well as new and interesting innovations in the tech space. My guest, Troy White is a native Philadephian currently based in Nairobi, Kenya. In solidifying his glocal citizenship, Troy used his US acumen to take on the role Managing Director of Temple Management in November 2016. Temple Management is Africa's 1st William Morris type of agency; it is Africa's first full-service creative talent and event management company operating primarily in the entertainment, sports, media and arts sectors. In 2018, Troy created Africa's first international gaming company, Kifaru, which has a partnership with Roc Nation's gaming component, Unanimous Games. Under the partnership, Kirafu completed a mobile game for Roc Nation artist Jay Park (largest Asian Rapper win the world). Troy is currently Managing Director of Digital Self for Africa and the US. Digital Self is a Virtual Reality company based out of London, a role he took on in 2019. Digital Self aspires to be the world’s largest emerging Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) interactive environment, utilizing technology and innovation delivered to the entertainment and events industries worldwide via a bespoke Eco-System.
