Greetings Glocal Citizens!
This year our Women’s Herstory Month series has taken us for the first time to Botswana and Norway; we stopped in the UK, picked up flavors from Nigeria, Sudan, Zambia, Netherlands, Philippines, Belgium, Brazil and South Africa; went on a future forward mission in Kenya, and we’re landing home in a flashback forward conversation with fellow Ghanaian-American and early Glocal Citizen, Nana Amoako-Anin (https://glocalcitizens.fireside.fm/guests/nana-amoako-anin). Nana first joined us on the podcast in January 2020 in a time when wellness was often taken for granted or an afterthought for later. Then the global pandemic, COVID-19 changed everything. Wellness is now having a moment. However, as we’ll discuss in the conversation, the moment calls for depth, not trend, to sustain real mindset and lifestyle shifts on the personal and professional levels. Nana writes about this at Wellness in Black (https://nanaamoakoanin.substack.com/) and lives and works it as a social entrepreneur and organizational leader. She is best known as the founder of Bliss Yoga Accra, Ghana’s first full-service yoga studio. With a background in law, she brings cross-sector expertise to her work, which bridges global perspectives with local impact, positioning her as a thought leader in mindful leadership, mentorship, social innovation and international executive strategy. In this conversation we catch up on evolving realities around wellness for Africans and in Ghana as well as her experience diversifying the what and how of work, guided by her enduring committment to staying people centered. And much, much more.

New Year Greetings Glocal Citizens!
As we usher in 2022 aka double deuces, this week’s episode is all about mindset. We’re going back into the Global Citizens archive for a compilation of mindset hacks from early guests of the podcast. In case you’e new to the podcast and not unlike some of my guests you might be wondering what is a mindset hack? Well, a description that I quite like is that mindset hacking is exploring the limits of what is possible, seeking excellence, or even balance which entails doing something exciting and meaningful, deliberately finding opportunities to be clever, problem solve and enjoy what you are doing. So with that in mind, this week you’ll hear from:
Cordie Aziz-Nash (https://glocalcitizens.fireside.fm/3), she is the CEO and founder of Environment360 and has roots in Sierra Leone, Ghana and the US;
Nigerian-American filmmaker and founder of Refined Creative based in Accra, Ghana, Emmanuel Etim (https://glocalcitizens.fireside.fm/4);
Ghanaian, musician and social entrepreneur, Leslie Bentil (https://glocalcitizens.fireside.fm/6), he’s the founder of Gutta Soles and the Gutta Soles Foundation;
Nigerian pianist, music director, composer, and leader of Afrobeat band Ayetoro, Funsho Ogundipe (https://glocalcitizens.fireside.fm/21);
Ghanaian Amma Gyampo (https://glocalcitizens.fireside.fm/7), Co-Founder of B2B Entrepreneurship Development firm, ScaleUp Africa;
Also from Ghana, serial techpreneur and creative, Kwame Acheampong (https://glocalcitizens.fireside.fm/23);
Yogi and wellness-peneur, Nana Amoako-Anin (https://glocalcitizens.fireside.fm/9), founder of Bliss Yoga Accra;
and Valerie Labi (https://glocalcitizens.fireside.fm/10), a social innovator, business leader and mother who just last week welcomed her third bundle of joy. Congratulations to Val and her family!
So, as we ease our way out of holiday mode and into the flow of work I hope you enjoy these sound bites of inspiration to help nourish the start of your new year!

Cordie Aziz-Nash, she is the CEO and founder of Environment360 and has roots in Sierra Leone, Ghana and the US;
Nigerian-American filmmaker and founder of Refined Creative based in Accra, Ghana, Emmanuel Etim;
Ghanaian, musician and social entrepreneur, Leslie Bentil, he’s the founder of Gutta Soles and the Gutta Soles Foundation;
Nigerian pianist, music director, composer, and leader of Afrobeat band Ayetoro, Funsho Ogundipe;
Ghanaian Amma Gyampo, Co-Founder of B2B Entrepreneurship Development firm, ScaleUp Africa;
Also from Ghana, serial techpreneur and creative, Kwame Acheampong;
Yogi and wellness-peneur, Nana Amoako-Anin, founder of Bliss Yoga Accra;
and Valerie Labi, a social innovator, business leader and mother who just last week welcomed her third bundle of joy. Congratulations to Val and her family!

So, as we ease our way out of holiday mode and into the flow of work I hope you enjoy these sound bites of inspiration to help nourish the start of your new year!
