Greetings Glocal Citizens!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been learning more and more about the Women of Africa Post-Pandemic Empowerment and Advocacy Programme with guests from Egypt to Scotland to Nigeria with a range of business, health and well-being perspectives. This week we’re back in Nigeria with the women that started it all, Glocal Citizen, Adebisi Bright. Dr. Bisi Bright is an international award-winning scientist, social entrepreneur, health systems researcher, adjunct lecturer, consultant clinical pharmacist, and public health manager. She is 1st Vice Chairman and CEO of LiveWell Initiative LWI, a self-sustaining nonprofit healthcare social enterprise, which has impacted over two million Nigerians and thousands of Ghanaians with health literacy, improved overall health, and wellness.

She is the brain behind the Post-pandemic Womens' Empowerment Programme of Africa which is a Gilead-Sciences, Inc. USA-supported regional program empowering all women in Africa and visiting ten nations with a goal of empowering all the Women of Africa in the post-pandemic era and to equip them tools for mental health and resilience. When we last spoke with Bisi, it was during the pandemic and we got to know how LWI was doing it’s part to equip communities with necessary health supports. Next up in our collaboration with LiveWell Initiative for the Women of Africa Post-Pandemic Empowerment and Advocacy Programme is a conversaton centering youth and partnerships with a leading management consultant in Africa, Dr. Adebowale Jeff Johnson. Born and raised in Nigeria, he is the first Youth Performance Consultant in the world. He has worked in six consulitng firms over the span of his nearly 25 years of working experience. Also working with several other organisations in capacities ranging from Human Resource Manager, GM Strategy and Innovation, Business Service Manager, Project Manager, Resource Consultant, Corporate Affairs Manager, and Training Consultant. He is a speaker on national reforms, a seasoned advisor and a human resources generalist. He is currently the Managing Director of Advisory Firm, Purple Prime Limited, with a focus on business advisory and public sector advisory practices. In this lively conversation we get to know about how his research across various sectors informs his work with youth and his public service endeavors.

For our next two-part conversation we're discussing health policy solutions for living well in Africa with my guest, CEO and founder of Nigeria's LiveWell Initiative (LWI), Adebisi "Bisi" Bright. As a social entrepreneur in the health sector, a qualified consultant clinical pharmacist and public health practitioner, Bisi is an innovative, pragmatic and result-oriented professional helping to improve wellness with a goal to improving life expectancy and reducing health illiteracy among the people. She is engaged in doing this by adding value to the 'social space' through the nonprofit organization LiveWell Initiative LWI - a health empowerment organization which has outreached over one million Nigerians and at least 3,000 Ghanaians with free health over the past three years.
