My guest this week is building the financial infrastructure that Africa deserves. As Chief Operating Officer of KoinKoin and CEO + Country Manager of KoinKoin Ghana Ltd, a leading African digital asset exchange, Mimi Kufuor is creating digital assets solutions that work for real people. She comes to this work after spending 15 years navigating the most complex corners of institutional finance - from regulatory programmes at Bank of America and Barclays to compliance frameworks at Meta, working alongside the European Central Bank and managing initiatives worth £10m+. In that span, she learned how money actually moves, how regulators operate, and how to build systems that can scale with integrity. She continues working with companies navigating African markets, building compliant exchange operations, or trying to understand how digital assets can solve actual problems.

Recognized as one of Africa’s “Top Fintech Voices,” she has shaped policy discourse at UK Parliamentary Summits, Financial Times Live events, and African Fintech Summits. Mimi champions financial inclusion, women’s leadership in fintech, and regulatory frameworks that position Africa as a pioneer in the global digital economy, building infrastructure that empowers individuals and businesses to access decentralized finance.

In our conversation this week, I am inspired by the work of this high growth serial entrepreneur with experience building businesses in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Ghana. As a strong believer in constant learning, building and improving on existing solutions Nana Opoku Agyeman-Prempeh is excited about the church, aviation, technology and agriculture. Born and raised in Ghana, he has an academic background in Technology and Entrepreneurship from Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) and an MPhiL. Agricultural Engineering (Machine Systems) from the University of Ghana, Legon. He has been afforded the opportunity to lead teams in building the following: Asoriba a Church CRM and donation platform, MybusinessPay a Fintech that processes millions of payments across the world into Ghana for local businesses. Fusion Point, a Technology Consulting Company and CCTVCam Live a security business building an AI solution to identify criminals via regular CCTV Cameras.

Nana is currently CEO of tech startup Grow For Me (GFM) which is a web and mobile based crowdfunding and crowd farming platform that sponsors farmers in growing more crops to solve hunger and poverty problems in Africa. Using drone and satellite imagery, they are able to update sponsors on the progress of the farms they’ve invested in, while providing the best Agronomic advice to optimize farm production. They are solving for global sustainable development goals (SDG) 1 and 2 by creating wealth and producing more food at the same time. GFM aims to contribute to the food production in Africa by helping feed 2.2 billion young Africans by 2050. The ultimate goal is to keep people out of poverty by bringing back young Africans into the aging Agricultural industry.

This week we're back in Nigeria with one of Forbes' 30 under 30 in Enterprise Technology. Starting his first company at age 19, he's a serial entrepreneur in the public interest. Iyinoluwa Aboyeji spent the last few years as the CEO of Flutterwave, a business building payments technology and infrastructure connecting Africa to the global economy. He led the company to becoming one of the fastest growing payments technology businesses of all-time processing over $2 billion across over 50 million transactions. In his tech-prenuer endeavors, prior to Flutterwave, Iyinoluwa co-founded Andela - Africa's largest engineering organization with over 1,000 software engineers; Andela’s investors include Mark Zuckerberg and Google Ventures amongst others. Iyinoluwa or "E" now heads Fund for Africa’s Future where he spends time helping founders, philanthropists and investors from around the world understand how to do build fast growing and impactful technology businesses in Africa.
