Mustapha Njie was born in Banjul in the Gambia and upon completion of his professional training, he worked for international construction firms in the Gambia for thirteen years. He established his own construction company in 1990 and called it “TAF Construction Company Limited”. With dedication and hard work, within two years, he transformed the business into a Holding Company with interest in Building Materials Supplies, Real Estate and Tourism Development. TAF holding company provides employment for over 500 Gambians and contributes to the strengthening of civil society through philanthropic gestures as well as provides sponsorship to needy students and sports in The Gambia.

In 1996, when the Gambia was to host the African union Summit, Mustapha Njie was tasked to design, build and furnish 52 Presidential Villas. This was completed in a record time of four months with satisfaction. As a result, Mr. Njie was jointly nominated the “2006 Man of the Year” by the Gambia News and Daily Report.

In the course of his business, career, he has bagged several awards and distinctions such as European Commission Global Business Award for Excellence and Quality. Three times The Gambia Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year (1993, 2004 and 2006. Gambian honorable businessman by ECOWAS in 2010. Mr. Njie has also been decorated with an Insignia of Member of the Republic of The Gambia (MRG) by His Excellency, The President of The Republic of The Gambia. He has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Irish University Business School in 2004.

Mustapha Njie has served in many Boards including the President’s Award Scheme, The Gambia Youth Business Trust, the National Printing and Stationery Corporation, Gambia Ports Authority and Gamtel. He is the current Chairman of the National Training Authority and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Trust Bank Limited. Mr. Mustapha Njie is married with children.
