Chidiebere Sunday Ibe is a Nigerian medical illustrator and a student at Kyiv Medical University in Ukraine. With roots in Ebonyi State in Nigeria, he graduated inChemistry from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and in 2020, he then became creative director of the Journal of Global Neurosurgery. Having lost his mother unexpectedly in sugery for fibroid removal at an early age, he became passionate about medicine, especially in relation to mothers and children. Independent from an early age, he raised funds for tuition to attend Kyiv Medical University in Ukraine, and is currently enrolled as a first-year medical student and aspires to be a pediatric neurosurgeon.

A self-taught medical illustrator, he learned to draw medical illustrations using just a computer mouse. In addition to his studies, Chidiebere is currently Research Fellow and Creative Director at the Association of Future African Neurosurgeons (AFAN) and the Young Continental Association of African Neurosurgical Societies (YCAANS). He is also Creative Director and Chief Medical Illustrator of the Journal of Global Neurosurgery. As well as a Junior Committee Member-World Federation of Neurosurgeons - Global Neurosurgery. He is passionate about contemporary illustrations of black patients. He has worked assiduously to promote the use of black skin medical illustration in medical textbooks and public health materials, which has afforded him the opportunity to be featured in WebMD/Medscape, Maryland Neurosurgery and the Globalscalpels podcast and other media platforms globally. He hopes to pursue a career in paediatric neurosurgery and establish an association for black illustrators.
