Caroline Modise is the Sustainability Engagements Manager at De Beers Group, where she plays a key role in socialising and amplifying the company’s Social Impact programmes across a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders. Her work centres on strengthening relationships with government, communities, industry partners, and thought leaders to advance De Beers’ sustainability ambitions and ensure that the positive impact of natural diamonds is widely understood and shared.

With a strong commercial foundation, Caroline built her early career managing relationships with some of the world’s leading diamond jewellery retailers. She later became a founding board member and Head of Strategy for the Botswana Careers Roundtable, a pioneering networking platform designed to bridge experienced professionals with emerging talent across corporate Botswana.

Caroline holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Rochester in New York, USA, and an Executive MBA from Hult International Business School, credentials that underpin her strategic approach, business insight, and leadership style.

She is also an alumna and former board member of the African Leadership Academy; an institution committed to transforming Africa by developing a network of future-ready young leaders.

Outside of her professional commitments, Caroline expresses her creativity as a bespoke food curator through Flaneur Kronicles, a personal brand inspired by her identity as a flâneur, someone who delights in travel, culture, gastronomy, and the art of wandering with intention. Her journeys across the world have shaped her global perspective, deepened her appreciation for cultural expression, and fueled her storytelling craft.

Caroline is deeply passionate about Africa’s developmental journey, with particular interest in social enterprises and sustainability strategies for grassroots organisations. Having lived in multiple countries over the past six years, she has honed exceptional intercultural communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with sensitivity, empathy, and professionalism.
