I'm Audra Gordon, a Caribbean designer based in Hong Kong. I am the founder of @beam_bold, a vibrant fashion brand for women and girls. My journey began in the beautiful islands of St.Vincent and the Grenadines but I was raised in Brooklyn, New York. I am now an expat living in Hong Kong for almost 12 years. I’ve traveled to 76 countries across 6 continents but I’m still in love with Hong Kong.

I haven’t always been a fashion designer. I’ve spent most of my career working as a banker in New York and Hong Kong. A few years ago, I took a career break to pursue my MBA full-time. This break has led me to a summer internship in Ghana, a semester study abroad in London, a 6-month solo trip across Africa, and ultimately to a career that I truly love.

While traveling across Africa, I met a girl in Ghana who owned nothing black. Our conversation about our shared love for vibrant clothing sparked my idea that someone should create a brand for people who love colors. I did not know then that the person would be me.

In January 2018, I went into China with 4 pieces of fabric, a translation app and an idea. By November 2018, Beam Bold was born with a pop-up shop in Soho, Hong Kong. From inception, the brand has been height & size inclusive and focused on reducing textile waste. On our 1-year anniversary, we’ve launched the Ermie Collection with matching pieces for girls.

Since launching my brand, I have been able to merge many of the things that I love; travel, fashion, vibrant colors, my Caribbean heritage, the African continent, and connecting with people. Thank you all for following along and for supporting my journey.
